There are many ways in which water resonates with the heart. And this is no great surprise as the heart, like all organs, is largely made up of water. But apart from this obvious association, if you take ‘water’ and ‘heart’ as individual concepts, there are also similarities in the way they have been handled throughout history. Like the heart, water has been greatly under-appreciated for millennia, its true role misunderstood. And although recognised as central to life, it has been degraded over time to the point that, unless there is a shortage or problem of some sort, little time or energy is directed towards exploring its real nature and value (although this is changing now). The same is true of the heart.
The fact that water holds secrets has been no secret, most scientists know that certain things about water have proven impossible to explain so far. But it is only those with an open mind willing to stretch their thinking beyond the usual confines of materialistic science who are coming close to finding answers. This again mirrors the situation with the heart. There is no doubt, water is a mysterious thing with properties and behaviours that appear magical but, like the heart, pursuing the deeper truth and striving for understanding is incredibly important as the information being revealed in these special times is vital for the evolution and even survival of humanity.

There was a time when the deeper significance of water was understood and in ancient cultures across with world it was revered, not only because without it we quickly die, but also because it was the feminine source of all life – a pregnant woman’s amniotic fluid a microcosmic representation of the macrocosmic divine waters from which all life is birthed.
“The Waters of Life, or Chaos—the female principle in symbolism—are the vacuum (to our mental sight) in which lie the latent Spirit and Matter.” Helena Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine vol. I
The spiritual significance of water to the ancients can’t be overstated with rituals involving water used to symbolise and invoke rebirth, purification and healing. There was a belief water could carry vibrational messages between the human and spiritual worlds and again this resonates with the heart, which attunes us to information coming from imaginal realms that lie beyond the material.
Although most have been unaware of the power of water for many centuries there have been a significant number of individuals during this time with intuitive understanding regarding the true nature of water. We can include in this list such greats as Leonardo da Vinci and Rudolph Steiner, as well as lesser-known pioneers such as the French immunologist, Jacques Benveniste who in recent decades introduced the idea of water having memory to the scientific community (and was derided as a result - most modern scientists are still closed to the idea). One notable individual on this list is Viktor Schauberger, an Austrian forester, naturalist and brilliant inventor who was born towards the end of the 19th century. Schauberger spent his time immersed in the forest closely studying the movement and flow of rivers and streams and observing how fish make their way through the water. By attuning to his environment, he developed a deep appreciation for water and its cycle and through his intuitive insights was able to harness the natural energies of water designing incredibly successful machines utilising water as fuel. At the time his work was largely ignored but today it is being rediscovered with a recognition that ‘living water’ as he described water in its natural vital state, is indeed essential for supporting life and maintaining health.
“The upholder of the cycles which sustain all Life is water. In every drop of water dwells a deity whom indeed we all serve. There also dwells Life, the soul of the primal substance - water - whose boundaries and banks are the capillaries that guide it, and in which it circulates.” Viktor Schauberger
Water’s continual recycling on our planet means the water in our current environment - that we drink, bathe in and is in our bodies, is the same water that touched the lives of our most ancient ancestors. This speaks of ‘connection’, one of the profound messages of water. Sadly, much of the water we interact with today has been treated poorly and has become deadened, its vitality stripped out, something Schauberger was very concerned about. However, another message of water is ‘rebirth’ and for however long we choose to mistreat water, it will still be circulating along with our souls, always ready and waiting to be reborn in its full strength and power.
It serves us to learn as much as we can about water, to support our own individual health and wellbeing and also that of the rest of humanity and of the planet. With this in mind we, the Awakening Heart Collective, are continuing our deep dive into the world of the quantum (see our previous event with Patricia Worby) and hosting an event on 22nd May 2025 on water – ‘The Astonishing Truth about Water - exploring its ability to memorise, communicate & power the heart’. Our guest speaker is Jeremy Jones, an expert on the energies of our environment and of water, and with his rich life experience, training and work in these areas has a wealth of valuable information to share. You can register for the event below. As this is a huge topic and Jeremy has so much to impart, we recorded an interview as a prelude to the event which is posted here - if you click the black box below and open to full screen you'll be able to view our discussion. Strap yourselves in as there is a lot of information, and this is only an introduction to this vast topic (more to come at the live event).
