The Essence of Healing - a Discussion on the Power of Unconditional Love

Professor Paul Dieppe has spent many years exploring the question ‘What is healing?’, delving into the thoughts and ideas of medics, health practitioners and the general public. Su Mason has also had this question at the forefront of her mind as she engages clients in her energy healing practice and teaches students of healing. As you'll discover if you explore this website, this is a question very prominent in the mind of Liz Butler also.
Paul, Su and Liz have separately come to very similar conclusions as to what lies at the core of the healing experience. They believe it relates to the mysteries of consciousness and spirituality – subjects rarely addressed in conventional medical practice. Whether it be the power behind the most supportive patient-practitioner relationships, the nature of the life force energy that allows physical bodies to recover, or the very essence of that which is transmitted in an energy healing session, they believe that what healing truly comes down to is heartfelt connection (with self, with others and with ‘Source’) and a transmission of Unconditional Love.
In this session Paul, Su and Liz will discuss the experiences that have led them to reach this consclusion and they will share with the audience their ideas on how we can tap into the flow of Uncondtional Love to allow our own healing.
About Su
Su Mason PhD is Co-Chair of The Confederation of Healing Organisations and a founding Director of Omnes Healing. She is co-author of Vibrations of Life – A Handbook for Energetic Wellbeing. Her background is in Nursing (she was Senior Nursing Sister of a regional paediatric Burns Unit) and medical and healthcare research (she was Joint Head of the Clinical Trials Research Unit, The University of Leeds, 1998 to 2002). She now feels privileged to devote time and Love to Healing.
About Paul
After a long career as an academic physician focusing on rheumatology and health services research, Professor Paul Dieppe has spent the last two decades contemplating questions around what it is that allows us to heal. During this time, he was involved in the Healing Journey Study, a qualitative analysis that sought to understand the path from wounding to healing from the patient’s perspective, and he ran projects over several years exploring the experiences of a wide range of healers, as well as ‘healees’ (those who have experienced healing). His projects have also explored the value of nature, art, creativity and ritual for healing as well as the impact of visiting the healing pilgrimage site of Lourdes.

Thornton, founder of the Centre of Biofield Sciences, has dedicated several decades of his life to researching the body’s biofield and is co-developer of the subtle energy imaging system, the Biofield Viewer. Over the years he has accumulated a great deal of knowledge on our energy systems, including the chakras, and has some important ideas regarding the heart’s role. During this presentation he shared his wisdom and gave a detailed explanation of the Biofield Viewer and the amazing insights it can provide.

Big Heart Conference
BIGHEART 2023 was the first UK online event to bring together a group of experts on transformation and the heart. Throughout the one-day event the 4 main speakers outlined, each from their own perspective, how connectedness is key as we transition into a new world, and how the heart is fundamental in establishing these connections and revealing our true power. The event was very popular and stimulated lots of wonderful connections and discussion. Video recordings of the speaker's talks are now available to view on the Awakening Heart Collective YouTube channel.
A Celebration of Love
On St Valentine's Day Eve, 13th February 2025, we held an online event celebrating love in its widest form, not just romantic. Included in the evening were a selection of speakers offering their thoughts on love, a breakout session allowing participants to share in smaller groups and a beautiful heart meditation led by Rev Padma Devi Sumananda from the Heart of Living Yoga organisation. Heart Revolution Special Screening
The Heart Revolution is a beautiful film exploring the deeper aspects of the heart, described by the team behind it as a 'poetic documentary to help you and humanity flourish'. Not due for public release until summer 2025, we hosted a special early screening followed by a discussion of the film's themes with its producer, Benedikt Just.
