For 2 and a half decades I have worked with people living with chronic diease and have witnessed plenty of individuals struggling to deal with ongoing pain. For some it has been relatively mild, for others it has been severe and completely debilitating, in all cases, however, its chronic nature has made it wearing and devitalising. Painkillers can be a God-send in these situations but there are very few who want to rely on medications for the long term and many I have known have sought alternative ways to find the relief they desire, some with success, some not.

It is only recently, through a mutual friend, that I came across Pain Coach, Richmond Stace, but I wish I had met him sooner - many of my clients could have benefitted from his care, I am sure. What I love about his work is that in adressing pain, he encourages his clients to search wide and dig deep into underlying causes, delving not just into the physical but also the realms of mind and emotions. Ultimately this search for root causes is an uplifting exploration though, as Richmond is very skilled in helping individuals focus on their strengths and positive qualities. What I also love is how Richmond draws on his own spiritual learnings in his work, using the Buddhist practices of mindfulness, acceptance and most importantly, compassion to inform how he engages with clients.

This feels like a very fresh, enlightened way to adress chronic pain and I hope you will enjoy learning more by tuning in to our conversation.
